Describe yourself in 3 words

Introvert, Passionate, Hot Headed

How do you juggle being a Mum and having a biz?

CHILDCARE! My 3 year old son is in childcare 3 days a week, which leaves just me and my 6 month old at home. I started my business when my eldest was born so I am used to juggling my business in between sleeps.  A lot happens after 9 pm too.

Tell us about your biz and WHY you do what you do

Threads for boys is an online store just for boys. The reason for this happened over 2 years ago when I had my first son and I couldn’t believe the lack of options available in stores. I wanted to find clothes and accessories that were so cool they would turn heads. The clothing had to be unique, edgy and totally rad. This is when I discovered Instagram. I was blown away by all the talent that I discovered. As a result most of the brands that are available to purchase from Threads for Boys are either designed or made by fellow mums and dads. This means that when you shop with us you are not just purchasing from Threads for Boys, but are indirectly supporting small independent designers. I want to make sure that all the mums of boys have somewhere to shop!

If you could go back in time and offer advice to your former entrepreneur-self what would you say?

  1. Don’t chase profit.
  2. Don’t doubt yourself even when others do.

What does success mean to you?

Being happy with what you do, everything else will follow from there.

What has been your hardest lesson learned?

I am still learning! Every day brings a different kind of challenge.

Finish this sentence – If I wasn’t my own boss right now I’d be…

Working as a Myotherpist.

What are you most proud of to date?

Finding something that I am passionate enough about to keep at it even when times get tough. My business is not about how much money I am making but more about the satisfaction and the confidence that what I am doing will achieve much more greatness than dollar bills.

Fun facts about you:

Facebook or Instagram? Both
Favourite TV show? The Bold and The Beautiful
Coffee or tea? Coffee!
Channing Tatum or Ryan Gosling? Ryan’s face on Channing’s body.

A random fact about yourself….

I HATE dill. I can spot it a mile away, so don’t even try hiding it in food.
